About Me
I'm Jonah Sussman. I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Red Hat and a Master's student in AI at UT Austin. I hold an MS in Computer Science and a BS in Computer Science & Mathematics from The University of Alabama. I love challenging myself and solving hard problems.
Experience
At Red Hat, I researched and kickstarted Kai, an agentic LLM-driven migration tool that uses static analysis to help developers modernize legacy applications. I presented Kai at KubeCon EU 2025 in London (where I proposed to my loving fiancée). I also contribute to Red Hat internal AI efforts.
While at The University of Alabama, I was a research assistant at the Digital Forensics and Control Systems Security Lab, where I researched how to get data off of Tuscaloosa's traffic system in a secure, sensible manner (part of the overall Alabama Transportation Institute Strategic Plan), resulting in a published paper. My previous research project dealt with detecting malware using Machine Learning on Android.
Before that, I interned at FiServ, working to remediate security vulnerabilities in the Financial Risk Management Solutions division. I've also worked at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, where we developed a night-vision themed exhibit for the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia.
